Introduction
Many of people in The World, run into anything headstrong without any kind of discretion nor plan; just pure will without thought or purpose of said action. Now will is a good thing, zeal is indeed, a virtue; however, zeal alone, just like knowledge alone with wisdom, can be a deadly action/trait. One must practice a balance of both zeal and caution in any endeavor. Action without discipline is chaotic in nature. This discipline, this discretion, this caution is known as Prudence.
Discipline and Judgement
Prudence is being careful and making calculated judgement on situation before going all out into action. If thou art to do anything, make sure thou hath a plan if time permits. Let's dive into a situation. Let's say there is a person who needs to go grab groceries for their family. Now let's say they have three routes to get to the grocery store. One option is dark forest with many man-eating lions. The second option is a desert where cannibals are known to lurk. The third and final option is a city center with a low crime rate. Options one is the quickest, followed by options 2 and option 3 is the slowest route. This person wants to get to the destination and back fast,; so they go through option 1 without any thought or care about doing so. Well, they gets eaten. It only makes sense. If the person would have practiced Prudence, they would have chosen option 3 and would have been to the grocery store and back home in one piece. Ye see, Zeal or Action without Prudence, is a dangerous path to be on. Practice Prudence and see how plans come together much nicer.
