In space we see the canis as well. At night we see The Canis Major Constellation, The Greater Dog. Location Canis Major Constellation lies in The Southern Celestial Hemisphere of our night sky. The Brightest Star in our Sky, Sirius, is located in Canis Major. The three known galaxies within Canis Major are Canis Major Overdensity, Sagittarius Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy & NGC 2298. Stars within Canis Major are: Sirius, Sirius A, VY Canis Majoris, Epsilon Canis Majoris, Beta Canis Majoris, Eta Canis Majoris, Delta Canis Majoris, Gamma Canis Majoris, Zeta Canis Majoris, Tau Canis Majoris, Sigma Canis Majoris, UW Canis Majoris, WR 7, HD 43197, WISE 0713-2917, NR Canis Majoris, Omicorn2 Canis Majoris, Pi Canis Majoris, Kappa Canis Majoris, Iota Canis Majoris, Omega Canis Majoris, EZ Canis Majoris, Mu Canis Majoris, HD 47186, Lambda Canis Majoris, Theta Canis Majoris, Z Canis Majoris, Omicron^1 Canis Majoris, Nu2 Canis Majoris, 12 Canis Majoris, HD 45364, HD 47536, FS Canis Majoris, R Canis Majoris, W Canis Majoris, 17 Canis Majoris, HD 47667, HD 56618, 10 Canis Majoris, HR 2724, Xi2 Canis Majoris, HD 53974, FR Canis Majoris, FW CMa, HD 52437, 15 Canis Majoris, HD 56577, 11 Canis Majoris, CX Canis Majoris, HD 56405 & HD 47366. Meaning Canis Major is latin for Greater Dog. In The Traditional Classical World Religion, Canis Major was seen as the Canis, Laelaps. Laelaps was a present from Zeus, The King of the gods, to Europa, mother of King Midas. Also in The Traditional Classical World Tradition, Canis Major was seen as Diana's (patroness to crossroads) nymph, The Hound of Procris. Alternatively, The Hound of Procris was given to Aurora(EOS, Titaness of Dawn) and Cephalus(a hero) who was famous for its speed. It is even said that The King of the gods, Zeus, elevated to The Sky. Also, Canis Major was seen as one of Orion's hunting canines. Conclusion Just like Canis Major has the brightest Star in the night sky, Sirius, Our own animal Canis are our best friends. They are loyal and humble and would do anything to please and protect us. In many ways they shine brighter than Sirius ever could. We should act as dogs do in this way, Loyalty, Humility and the willingness to sacrifice our own well beings for the betterment of others. The Canis is indeed the brightest of them all.

I'd like to use your Canis Major drawing in a book. What would you like me to credit for its release?
