Introduction
Southern Pinwheel Galaxy, also known as Messier 83, M83, NGC 5236, PGC 48082 and UGCA 366, is a Barred Spiral Galaxy located inside The Hydra Constellation. Southern Pinwheel Galaxy is located 14.7 Million Light Years from Earth. Profile of Southern Pinwheel Galaxy Messier 83 was discovered on February 23rd, 1752, by French Astronomer Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille, and was later added to Messier Catalogue by French Astronomer Charles Messier in March of 1781. Messier 83 is a massive gigantic Grand Design Spiral Galaxy. Southern Pinwheel Galaxy has six known and named Supernovae. The Six Supernovae are Supernova 1923A, Supernova 1945B, Supernova 1950B, Supernova 1957 B, Supernova 1968L and Supernova 1983N. Southern Pinwheel Galaxy is in the middle of duo subgroups. The Two subgroups are Centaurus A and M83 Group.
